Once we have identified the Top 100 EDGE Birds we will begin developing a series of comprehensive Species Accounts that collate the latest available information on biology and ecology, population size and distribution, current level of conservation attention, and the conservation actions required to ensure their continued survival. In addition to photographic images and the latest species distribution maps, we hope to provide audio and video clips wherever possible.

The research team developing the avian evolutionary tree are in the final stages and are currently error-checking their work. Once finalised, they will begin calculating actual Evolutionary Distinctiveness (ED) scores.
