Dr Jaime Jiménez MSc PhD
  • Researcher
[General description section]
I am a Chilean native with broad interests in conservation ecology and ecological studies of Chilean vertebrates (chinchillas, foxes, pudu deer, marsupials, birds, etc.), on which I have published more than 50 scientific papers. I am a member of scientific societies and belong to Canids and Deer SSC.

I did my first studies in Ecology at U Católica, Santiago, and later developed a WWF conservation project on the long-tailed chinchilla under the Chile's Forest Service. Then, I earned an MS and a PhD in Management of Natural Resources and Wildlife Ecology, respectively in the USA. I am currently the head of the Gradate School at Universidad de Los Lagos. I am leading our MS program in Conservation of Natural Resources where I am advising several graduate students from Chile and neighbouring countries.
