Biography

Ana is a full-time employee at NatureFiji-MareqetiViti.

Ana aims to enhance her expertise in species conservation while building on her previous work in ecological research. This focused approach will enable her to establish a robust framework for conservation strategies in her field. Additionally, she hopes the EDGE Fellowship will allow her to take on a leadership role, gain hands-on experience, and collaborate with a diverse network of professionals.

Through the fellowship, she will seek to refine her research skills, develop effective conservation action plans, and improve her communication and report-writing abilities. The opportunity for mentorship and networking will be instrumental in achieving these goals and advancing her career in species conservation.

EDGE Project

Ana’s project aims to develop a participatory species recovery and management action plan for Dacrydium nausoriense.

Her objectives are to:

  • Identify, engage with, and consult the key stakeholders.
  • Compile background information on the conservation status of the species.
