Jyoti serves as the Regional Projects Manager for Asia, where he plays a pivotal role in training, supervising, and mentoring EDGE fellows across the region. With years of dedicated research and field experience in the conservation of Asian elephants in Northeast India, his PhD research focused on the habitat ecology of this majestic creature within tropical forests. Jyoti’s research interests span critical areas such as population monitoring in tropical forests, human-wildlife conflict, and the development of conservation protocols in transboundary landscapes. A respected member of several influential conservation groups, including the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA), he contributes to capacity development, connectivity conservation, transboundary conservation, and management effectiveness—shaping the future of global conservation.
